
Our Home
Francis of Assisi Home is a welcoming 148-bed aged care facility offering compassionate, person-centred care in a warm and supportive environment. Our Home is made up of five individual sections, each designed to meet the unique needs of our residents:
- St Clare – 50-bed low to medium care section
- Sacred Heart – 24-bed medium to high care section
- St Phillip – 15-bed Memory Support Unit
- St Joseph – 31-bed high care section
- Our Lady – 28-bed high care section
Rooms & Comfort
Each resident room is thoughtfully designed for comfort, safety, and convenience. Rooms include:
- Electric bed
- Bedside table
- Built-in wardrobe with shelving and hanging space
- Private ensuite bathroom
- Large windows for natural light
- Air conditioning and ceiling fans
- Visitor chairs
- Nurse call buttons in both room and ensuite
Residents are welcome to personalise their space by bringing treasured items from home, such as a television, small fridge, or favourite recliner chair. Pillows, sheets, and blankets are provided.
Upon admission, residents are assessed by our Physiotherapist to ensure appropriate support for mobility, comfort, and safety. Specialised equipment and pressure-relieving mattresses may also be provided according to individual care needs.

Our Home offers a range of facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy, including:
- Central kitchen servicing all sections
- In-house laundry service
- Comfortable lounge and recreation areas
- Peaceful courtyards and gardens
- Gardening pods for residents to grow herbs, flowers, or vegetables
- Outdoor BBQ and gathering area for family celebrations and special occasions
The BBQ area and adjoining lounge may be booked through Reception for birthdays and family get-togethers.
Meals & Dining
All meals are freshly prepared on-site by our experienced kitchen team. Menus are reviewed by qualified nutritionists to ensure residents receive balanced, nutritious, and enjoyable meals.
Meals may be enjoyed in the dining room or delivered to resident rooms if preferred.
Meal Service Times
- Breakfast – from 8.00am
- Lunch – from 12.00pm
- Dinner – from 5.00pm
Breakfast includes hot options such as eggs and porridge, along with cereals and toast. Lunch is our main meal of the day, featuring soup, a choice of protein with vegetables and potatoes, followed by dessert. Dinner is a lighter meal, also served with soup. Fridays are a resident favourite with traditional Fish & Chips on the menu.
Morning tea, afternoon tea, and supper are also provided daily. Meals can be saved for residents unable to attend dining times — simply let staff know in advance.
Chapel & Spiritual Care
Our peaceful Chapel is open to residents and families for quiet reflection and private prayer. Regular Rosary and Mass services are held throughout the week. Please speak with Reception or our Lifestyle Team for current service times.
Hairdressing Salon
A fully equipped hairdressing salon is located within the Home. A qualified hairdresser visits twice weekly, offering affordable services including cuts, styling, and colouring. Payments are made directly to the hairdresser.
Library
Residents are welcome to enjoy our cosy library located in the Sacred Heart section. Books, audiobooks, cassette tapes, and CDs are available for borrowing, and book donations are always appreciated.
Telephone, WiFi & Laundry Labels
Free WiFi is available to all residents upon entry. Please see Reception for access details.
Telephones may also be installed in resident rooms for a small monthly fee. Reception can assist with arrangements.
Name labels for clothing can also be organised through our approved supplier, with delivery generally taking 2–3 weeks.
Visiting Hours
Family and friends are always welcome.
Visiting hours are:
8.30am – 4.30pm daily
Visitors enter through the Administration building during weekdays, and through St Joseph on weekends. Visits outside normal visiting hours can be arranged with prior approval from Administration.
